Lacie McCulley Cook was a pitcher for the Northwest softball team during the 2005-06 seasons and was named an All-MACJC selection both years and an NJCAA All-Region 23 selection as a sophomore. She was team MVP and Eyewitness News Sports Amateur Athlete of the Week twice while at Northwest.

Before coming to Northwest, Cook had an extensive softball career in DeSoto County. She started playing tee ball at age 6 and began pitching at age 10. In her summer, high school and college pitching careers, she pitched a total of 718 games, losing only 42.

She played for Southaven High School and earned All-County, All-District, All-Shelby Metro, All-Chickasaw Conference, All-State and Best of the Preps finalist. Cook was also named to the High School All-American Team and in 2003, was named Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as a national Player of the Year nominee. In 2004, she was chosen MVP in the Mississippi Coaching Association All-Star game. Cook’s No. 5 jersey was retired at Southaven High School.
