Freddy Rogers of Jacksonville, Ark., played for the Rangers from 1980-82.

In 1981, he was named an NJCAA All-American, All-State and All-Region, Who’s Who Among American College Students and was selected Mr. NWJC by the student body. Rogers competed in the Junior College All-Star Game in 1981.

Rogers attended West Helena Central High School in West Helena, Ark., and was a two-year letterman and two-year all-state selection in 1978-79.

A two-year letterman at Arkansas State University in 1982 and 1983, Rogers played professionally for the Montreal Concords in 1985 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1986.

Rogers was awarded the key to the city and was named ambassador to the city in West Helena, Ark., in 1985.
