Arthur L. "Bubba" Kuntzman, Jr., of Memphis was a Ranger football standout in 1960-61. He was named All-State and Junior College All-American in 1961.

Kuntzman came to Northwest following a standout prep career at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, where he was named to the All-Memphis team and played in the All-State game.

After Northwest, he continued his playing career at Hardin-Simmons University in 1962-63. He earned a bachelor's degree at Hardin-Simmons in 1964 and a master's degree at the University of Memphis in 1975.

Kuntzman spent the past 38 years as a teacher and coach with Shelby County Schools before retiring in the spring of 2004.
