It took some four-year universities only one season to realize that basketball standout Miller could perform at a higher level. After a freshman year at Northwest in 1971-72 that saw Miller start every game and receive All-American and All-State honors, he transferred to Drury College in Missouri.

While in a Ranger uniform, Miller led the team in scoring and rebounding, and in his first home game he put on a show with 40 points and 25 rebounds. Before attending Northwest, Miller was chosen All-State his senior year at Hernando High School.

At Drury, Miller was named to the NAIA All-District 16 team twice and was the only unanimous choice in 1972-73. He also received All-American and All-Region honors after the 1974-75 season.

The highest point of Miller's career came when he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association in 1975. Miller made the team, but was forced to retire in 1976 because of a knee injury. Since then, Miller has resided in Seattle where he is a major account manager with Seattle Office Systems.

He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Miller of Hernando.
