Bryce McCullough is being honored posthumously. 
     
The Samson, Ala., native played running back at Northwest, receiving awards for Most Outstanding NWJC running back, Most Athletic, Mississippi Junior College All-State and All-American Running Back. He played running back for the East Squad in the 1960 Junior College All-American game at Albuquerque, N.M. He was also named Most Popular, Preferred Men, and Most Handsome at Northwest.
     
He earned a scholarship to Delta State University and finished his football career there.
     
While at Samson High School, he was named MVP during the 1957 Peanut Bowl in Dothan.
   
He was successful in the insurance business, retiring from Pyramid Life Insurance Company. He died in 2002 at the age of 62.
