Lee earned two letters in both football and baseball. While at Northwest, Lee served as class president his freshman and sophomore year, president of Phi Theta Kappa his sophomore year, was a member of the Student Council and was a pitcher/outfielder for the baseball team.

Lee is a 1959 graduate of Sardis High School. After leaving Northwest, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1964 and served in the Naval Air Reserves from 1965-1971. He was employed with Louisiana Power and Light—later becoming Entergy Corporation—in New Orleans, La., from 1964 until his retirement in 1999.
