Jack Peel of Mountain Home, Ark., played baseball under coaches Jim Miles and Donny Castle during the 1983 and 1984 seasons.
The 1983 squad won the MACJC North Division and State championships.
During the winter of 1984, Peel was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the eighth round of the supplemental draft. The 1984 Ranger team won the North Division crown, the state championship and the Region 23 championship. Peel was named first team All-State as an outfielder.
After Northwest, he transferred to the University of Memphis, where he was named one of the team captains his senior year and was first team All-Metro Conference as an outfielder following his senior season.
In the summer of 1986, Peel signed with the Chicago White Sox as a free agent. He played in the White Sox organization for four years and in the Texas Rangers organization for two years.
