Donny Castle of Senatobia, athletic director and head baseball coach, has been a mainstay on the Northwest coaching staff since 1979. Castle has coached in more than 1,100 baseball games during his career. As head coach, Castle owns a seven-year record of 241-99-4, including three MACJC north division championships and one MACJC state crown. He served 19 years as an assistant to retired coach and athletic director Jim Miles.
A 10-year veteran of professional baseball, Castle played for the Washington Senators, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees. As a high school star, Castle led Coldwater High to a state baseball championship in 1968.
He earned 13 letters in three sports - football, basketball, baseball. He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Delta State University.
Castle was inducted into the MACJC Sports Hall of Fame in April 2007.
