    Men's Basketball Coach
It's fair to say that Kenneth "Cat" Robbins has made his mark on the men's basketball program at Northwest.

Robbins served as the Rangers head coach for 18 seasons spanning from 1975-93. During his tenure, he compiled a 251-162 (.608) overall mark, and is still the all-time winningest coach. While at Northwest, his teams captured four MACJC North Division and three state titles. In his fifth season, the Rangers won the Region 23 championship and advanced to the NJCAA Sweet 16.

Robbins won several coaching awards, including Mississippi Junior College Coach of the Year and the Babe McCarthy Tipoff Club Junior College Coach of the Year. In 1980, he was honored by a Senate resolution for leading the Mississippi Junior College All-Star team.

Before coming to Northwest, Robbins played basketball at the University of Mississippi from 1951-52. He was named an All-SEC selection as a junior, after leading the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game. He was also named team captain during his senior season..

Robbins began his coaching career at Jumpertown High School in 1953, where he spent one season, before taking another coaching position at Ingomar High School. While at Ingomar, Robbins coached both the boys and girls basketball programs from 1954-65, earning a record of 401-85 with the girls and 328-85 with the boys. In 1958, he led the Lady Falcons to an undefeated 54-0 record in 1958 and the Grand Slam Championship. He guided the Lady Falcons to a 53-1 record and the state championship in 1962, while also leading the boys program to a runner-up finish that same year.

Following the 1965 season, Robbins accepted the head coaching job at Northeast Community College, where he coached both men's and women's programs. In 1968, Robbins led the men's team to a 28-1 record and the MACJC State Championship. From there, he spent time as an assistant coach at Ole Miss from 1969-75.

Robbins was inducted into the Northeast Mississippi Community College Hall of Fame in 2008 and the MACJC Sports Hall of Fame in April 2009.
