Elyse Lovelace Caudle Inducted to Mississippi Community College Sports Hall of Fame

Northwest women's soccer alum still program's all-time leading scorer

JACKSON - It took only one season for Elyse Lovelace Caudle to leave her mark on the Northwest women's soccer program.

Her continued impact on the Lady Rangers was celebrated once again on Tuesday evening, when Caudle was inducted into the Mississippi Community College Sports Hall of Fame. She was previously enshrined into the Northwest Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

Caudle spent just one year with Northwest, leading the nation with 37 goals scored during the 2006 season. Her efforts helped coach Peter Jarjoura's squad to a 13-4 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the former MACJC North Division.

Her remarkable scoring total still remains intact as the Lady Rangers' program record. Nine of her 37 goals came in a 16-0 victory against Southwest Mississippi on September 26, 2006.

After graduating in the spring of 2007 with an associate's degree from Northwest, Caudle went on to play in 29 games for Austin Peay State University from 2007-08.

When her collegiate soccer career ended, Caudle began competing in 5K and marathon races, placing first in several local 5K events. She is also a professional elite powerlifter and is ranked in the top two percent in the world for two weight classes. Additionally, she placed first in the Arnold XPC Finals Championships in 2017 and 2018, holding the Tennessee record for amateur and professional in all three lifts.

Caudle joins several other Northwest legends in the Mississippi Community College Sports Hall of Fame, including Canadian Football Hall of Famer Henry "Gizmo" Williams, longtime women's basketball coach Don Edwards and Pro Football Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy.
