Anna Kathryn Harrell Signs with Central Arkansas

SENATOBIA - One of the top goalkeepers in the history of the Northwest women's soccer program has found her new home at the Division I level.

Harrell, a native of Tupelo, signed with the University of Central Arkansas on Tuesday afternoon, officially closing the books on her historic Northwest career, which recently included the Lady Rangers' first national championship.

"She is one of the best goalkeepers that has come through this program, if not the best," Northwest head coach James Beattie said. "She has been huge for us over these past two seasons. Everyone coming in knew the potential that she had, and she just ran with it. Now, she is going to play at a top Division I school and that's what the trajectory is for every player when they come here."

A two-time NJCAA All-American selection, Harrell leaves Northwest with 141 career saves, good for fourth-most all-time. She also holds career records for wins (38) and shutouts (29), while also holding the top two single-season records for victories. Harrell also allowed just 15 goals in her two seasons with the Lady Rangers, allowing nine goals this season and an .886 save percentage.

Throughout her Northwest career, Harrell was named MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week 10 times, including four times this season. She has also raked in All-MACCC and All-NJCAA Region 23 accolades, while also earning All-American recognition from the United Soccer Coaches organization.

Harrell is the first Northwest soccer alumnus to play for UCA and she is the first Division I signee from this year's squad, though several more are expected. The Lady Rangers finished the season at 22-0, marking the program's second 20-win campaign in as many years.

Located in Conway, Ark., UCA finished the 2024 season with a 9-7-2 overall record and an 8-1-2 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference.Â
