SENATOBIA - With conference standings beginning to heat up, college football becomes more scattered than ever entering Week 7.
Between Tuesday and Saturday, at least one college football game will be featured on national television. This week's slate kicks off on Tuesday evening, as
Rod Daniels and Liberty University plays host to Florida International University.
Melvin Collins, Jr. and Western Kentucky plays host to UTEP on Thursday evening, while a handful of former Rangers will suit up for Memphis and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday evening (weather permitting).
Saturday's slate features some contests pitting Northwest football alums against each other. The most notable example of this is the ULM-Southern Miss game, as a combined eight former Rangers are on rosters for both teams.
In all, a total of 41 former Northwest football student-athletes will suit up for FBS and FCS programs to kick off the season. Additionally, one former Ranger baseball player has made the switch from the outfield to the gridiron, as Thomas Cheatham has made the 2024 roster for Mississippi State as a receiver.
