SENATOBIA - As the calendar flips from September to October, the focus has shifted to conference play for most college football programs. That once again means several Northwest alums will be part of the national focus for their respective teams.
A total of 19 former Rangers will be in action for FBS programs, while several more will suit up at other levels of college football. A full list of next-level players can be found
here.
This week's schedule kicks off earlier than usual, with Marshall and Louisiana set to tangle on ESPN2 tonight. Former Ranger defensive lineman Nijel McGriff will suit up for the Ragin' Cajuns in a 6:30 P.M. Central kickoff.
Several other Rangers not listed below will enjoy a bye week this week, including defensive lineman Robert Hentz II (Kansas State), receiver Braden Smith (Louisville), quarterback Jack Abraham (Mizzou) and defensive back Jayce Rogers (Houston).
