SENATOBIA – Redshirt sophomore defensive tackle
Kendall Carr will continue his football career at Southeast Missouri State, signing an NLI with the Redhawks late Wednesday morning in Senatobia.
Carr (6-0/285) was being recruited heavily by former Ranger defensive coordinator Ricky Coon and verbally committed to SEMO last Sunday before making it official today. He was also receiving interest from UTEP, Memphis, Alabama A&M, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Murray State and Jacksonville State.
A Batesville native and South Panola graduate, Carr tallied 71 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss and four sacks in 22 career games with the Rangers. He played in all 10 games in 2012 and helped lead Northwest to its first bowl win in 20 years before being injured in the second game of the 2013 season. As a redshirt sophomore in 2014, Carr was third on the team with 52 tackles, 12.5 TFL, three sacks and three quarterback hurries.
Carr is the first Ranger to sign with SEMO since defensive back Lorenzo Henderson back in 2001.
