GREENWOOD, Ind. - Emma Jensen will need a bigger shelf. Jensen, the Northwest Mississippi Community College sophomore midfielder from Gammelby, Germany, was named the 2025-26 College Division Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team Member of the Year, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Jensen headlines a group of twenty outstanding student-athletes named to the 2025-26 Academic All-America® Women's At-Large team.
The Ranger was honored in December as a First Team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American selection after a stellar career during which she helped lead the Rangers to a 43-1-1 record and back-to-back NJCAA Division II National Championships. That was Jensen's second honor as a first team selection after also being recognized following her freshman season in 2024.
Jensen was also recognized in back-to-back years as the NJCAA DII Tournament MVP and was selected as the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference/NJCAA Region 23 Player of the Year following her freshman season. The midfielder ended her time in Senatobia as the program's all-time leader in goals (53) and points (126).
The sophomore scored 31 goals and added 10 assists in 2025 and capped her career on the pitch by scoring both of the Rangers' goals in the final three minutes of Northwest's 2-1 NJCAA DII National Championship victory over Heartland Community College.
Jensen's excellence also extended to the classroom. She was recognized every semester on campus on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0+ GPA) and the President's List (3.75+ GPA). Following her freshman season, she was recognized as a Distinguished Academic All-MACCC (3.8+ GPA) and Second Team NJCAA All-Academic (3.8-3.99 GPA) selection. Her 2024 Northwest women's soccer team was also honored as the MACCC and NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.
In her free time, Jensen volunteered with Senatobia youth soccer clinics and at reading and science fairs at Senatobia Elementary School.
Head Coach
James Beattie doesn't mince words when he speaks about Jensen. "This is yet another award that shows the legacy that she's going to leave behind at Northwest. Her having that award for the first time in our college's history just shows individually how many records she, and our team, broke. She's just raised the bar for the next group."
"For me it shows how valuable she was both on and off of the field. She's definitely the best player I've ever coached in college soccer. I think this award really allows us to celebrate her more because she deserves to be celebrated. It's not just the player; it's the person. She's a fantastic person that comes from a really good family. She's got a really bright future in everything outside of soccer as well just because of the person she is."
Athletic Director
Jake Gordon added "
Emma Jensen is one of the hardest working players that Northwest soccer has ever seen. She led the school to two national championships while earning straight A's at the same time. I am pleased that I was able to watch her efforts here at Northwest, and excited to see what the future brings for her."
Jensen becomes only the fifth CSC Academic All-America® selection in Northwest Mississippi Community College history, joining Spencer Cayten (baseball, 2017), Sam Brumfield (football, 2022), Michael Hiers (football, 2022), and Jacoby Jones (football, 2022). She is Northwest's first Team Member of the Year recipient.
