POPLARVILLE - The Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team (8-3, 3-3) suffered their third conference defeat after a 4-1 loss to #9 Pearl River Community College women's soccer team (11-1, 8-0).
Although both teams were evenly matched throughout the early minutes, PRCC quickly jumped out an early lead when Alesha Gale put away a shot in the 13th minute.
After the first Pearl River goal, the Rangers were never fully able to grab a hold of the momentum again.
In the 32nd minute, Julia Hoffman scored from another goal to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Wildcats going into the half.
Hoffman then assisted Lola Smith's goal in the 54th minute.
The last PRCC goal came after an Addy Grace Alexander goal from an Issy Stewart assist in the 56th minute.
NWCC was able to get one goal back in the 76th minute when freshman Yazzlyn Alex headed home Brooke Davis' cross.
Northwest will look to bounce back when they welcome the Meridian Eagles (7-4-2, 4-2) to the Ranger Soccer Complex on Tuesday, October 13, at 5:00 p.m.
