Women's soccer prepares to host Meridian on Friday in Region 23 Quarterfinals

SENATOBIA – The #7 Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team (13-3, 8-3) wrapped up the regular season as the third overall seed in the MACCC and, with that, have picked up a home game to open the postseason on Friday, October 30.

Northwest will be welcoming Meridian Community College (8-8-2, 5-6) to the Ranger Soccer Complex at 5 p.m. for a quarterfinal match, with the winner advancing to Poplarville on Wednesday, November 4th for the semifinals.

The Rangers defeated the Eagles earlier this year on October 13 with a 4-0 win at home. That win started a four-match winning streak that saw the Rangers outscore their opponents 25-3.

The rest of the quarterfinal action looks like this:

#1 Holmes Community College (15-1, 10-1) – Received the bye
#2 Pearl River Community College (13-2, 10-1) vs #7 Itawamba Community College (6-6, 5-6)
#4 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (12-3-1, 8-3) vs #5 Jones College (12-3-1, 8-3)

The winner of the Region 23 Championship will earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Championship, to be hosted in Huntsville, Alabama, from November 15-21 at the Spencer Sports Complex at John Hunt Park.

Northwest's match with Meridian will be streamed on RangerTV for those who are looking to follow along, and attendance at the match is free.
