SENATOBIA - With college football season now entering its fourth week, conference match ups are beginning to come into play for many FBS and FCS teams.
In all, a total of 42 former Northwest football student-athletes will suit up for FBS and FCS programs this weekend.
Former Ranger quarterback
Zach Wilcke started the week off with a road contest along with four other Rangers including
K.D. Gibson, E. Jai Mason,
D.J. Burgess, and
Jaylon Johnson for Charlotte in a Thursday night game against Rice.
Just up the road from Senatobia, four Northwest alum will be competing in Memphis when the Tigers face off with Arkansas with the defensive side of the ball well represented in Rayyan Buell, Sam Brumfield, and Tanner Gillis playing for the Tigers against
Keshawn Davila for the Razorbacks.
Further west, #10 Texas Tech will see Davion Carter suiting up against #16 Utah as the Red Raiders look to remain unbeaten against the Utes in an 11:00 AM kickoff on FOX.
More locally, Mississippi State will be hosting Northern Illinois with
Jakheem Shumpert-Perkins and Jykeveous Hibbler holding down the offensive and defensive lines for the Bulldogs. Also in state, #17 Ole Miss will be hosting Tulane at The Grove with Tavion Prather taking to the field for the Rebels.
In the later slate of games, Southern Miss will be traveling to Louisana Tech for a 6:30 kickoff that will feature Quinzavious Warren and Zion Edwards for the Golden Eagles.
