Alorian Story takes home MACCC Player of the Week honors

SENATOBIA - Alorian Story had a more than impressive showing for the Northwest Mississippi Community College women's basketball team on Saturday in Tennessee on the way to helping the Rangers take home a 52-49 win over then 6-1 Dyersburg State Community College, and the 25-point 14-rebound double-double was enough for the sophomore from Ripley, Mississippi to earn the MACCC Player of the Week honor for December 2nd.

The double-double was her sixth of the season already and the Ranger forward is averaging one on the season with 14.2 points and 12.7 rebounds per game through the opening ten for Northwest. The 25 points was also one off of a season best and the most since the season opener against Bishop State Community College on November 1st.

Story is leading the conference in rebounds, averaging two more than Kamaiyah Pruitt of Copiah-Lincoln Community College and her 14.2 points per game is eighth in the conference. She is also 14th in the conference in field goal percentage and is top 25 in free throw percentage as well.

The Rangers and Story have two more games before the break with a road test this week on Thursday against East Mississippi Community College at 5:30 pm before returning home on Monday, December 8th for a 5:30 tip against Holmes Community College.
