SENATOBIA – The college football season is turning into the final half and there is plenty of action almost every night, including former Rangers here, there and everywhere! The slate for the week opened with Tuesday night action that saw Rod Daniels (DL) and the Kennesaw State Owls pick up a win over FIU, and the schedule only heats up from there!
Tonight, New Mexico State and Saveon Freeman will have a highlight game with Missouri State in an 8:00 PM kickoff on CBS Sport and on Friday five Rangers will suit up for action with Charlotte when they face off with North Texas at 6:00 PM.
Saturday's regular slate of games is full of top ten matchups for the Northwest alumni in pads, opening with an 11:00 AM SEC matchup between #8 Ole Miss, with Tavion Prather (DL) and Macaleb Taylor (RB) on the field for the Rebels, against #13 Oklahoma on ABC.
The 11:00 games also feature the Memphis Tigers taking the trio of Rayyan Buell (DL), Sam Brumfield (LB), and Tanner Gillis (P/K) into a bounce back game against #18 South Florida and D.T. Sheffield (WR) and the Rutgers Scarlett Knights taking on Purdue on the Big Ten Network.
Stephen Hall (DB) and the #15 Missouri Tigers will take on #10 Vanderbilt later in the afternoon at 2:30 PM on ESPN and just 30 minutes later Davion Carter (OL) and #14 Texas Tech will face off with Oklahoma State on ESPNU.
The top game of the evening featuring former Northwest players is an HBCU classic between #13 Jackson State and Grambling State that can be found along with four other games on Saturday on SWAC TV.
In all, a total of 44 former Northwest football student-athletes will suit up for FBS and FCS programs this weekend.
