SENATOBIA – It's a busy week for former Northwest football players as Thursday saw a pair of games, tonight features one more, and Saturday is packed with alumni taking to the field for their new teams!
Thursday's pair of games saw Rod Daniels and Kennesaw State pick up a 35-7 victory over Louisiana Tech and Quinzavious Warren and Zion Edwards help the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss to a 38-35 win over Georgia Southern.
The Rang Gang will look to stay perfect on the week tonight with D.T. Sheffield and Rutgers heading west to face off with Washington in Big 10 action with kickoff at 8:00 pm tonight on FS1.
Saturday features plenty of big match ups including a ranked battle at the start when Stephen Hall and #14 Missouri host #8 Alabama at 11:00 AM on ABC in a massive SEC showdown. That isn't the only ranked SEC team taking to the field with some Rangers in the ranks. Tavion Prather and Macaleb Taylor are on the field at 11:45 when #4 Ole Miss host Washington State and the Cougers at The Grove.
Keshawn Davila and Arkansas also find themselves in a ranked battle later this afternoon when they travel to #12 Tennessee.
At the FCS level, #14 Jackson State will send Dimonyai Lacey and B.J. Washington against Alabama State and fellow Northwest alum Derick Harden at 2:30 pm.
Also in a ranked fight, #15 Austin Peay faces off with Eastern Kentucky with both teams featuring Rangers on the field.
Stratton Smith suits up for the Governors and will be head to head with Kylan Robinson from the Colonels with kickoff at 3:00 pm.
In all, a total of 44 former Northwest football student-athletes will suit up for FBS and FCS programs this weekend.
