CHARLOTTE - Following another 2-0 week that included a shutout win against Pearl River and a close call at Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Northwest women's soccer team remains in the top spot of the latest NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer rankings, which were released Monday afternoon.

Northwest (9-0, 4-0 MACCC) has remained No. 1 since the release of the preseason polls in mid-August. The Lady Rangers are followed by Johnson County (Kan.) at No. 2, third-ranked Phoenix College, No. 4 Heartland and fifth-ranked Holmes.

Pearl River slid down a spot from No. 11 to No. 12, while Mississippi Gulf Coast remained firm at No. 20 with a 5-1-1 overall record. Jones College also remains in the Top 10, remaining at No. 6 overall.

Northwest was originally scheduled to face National Park College on Tuesday, October 1, but that match has since been canceled and will not be rescheduled. The Lady Rangers' next opponent will be Hinds, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 P.M.
