CHARLOTTE - Following another MACCC North Division victory against Northeast last week, Northwest has moved up three spots from 10th to No. 7 in the latest NJCAA rankings, released Monday afternoon.

This marks the highest ranking of the season for Northwest since being slotted seventh in the NJCAA preseason rankings in mid-August.

Since a close season-opening loss at Pearl River, the Rangers have won four straight games and improved to 4-1 on the season, including a win against former No. 8 team East Mississippi. Northwest will have a bye week before its next contest, a non-division matchup at Southwest Mississippi on Thursday, October 10.

Hutchinson (Kan.) tops the rankings, followed by Iowa Western at No. 2, third-ranked Snow College (Utah), No. 4 Mississippi Gulf Coast and fifth-ranked Georgia Military.

Other MACCC programs ranked include Holmes at No. 8 and Jones College at No. 12. Itawamba and Copiah-Lincoln are both unranked, but receiving votes.
