SENATOBIA - Less than a month remains until Northwest men's soccer begins its regular season, and head coach
Michael Sullivan has released his Fall 2024 slate.
Three of the Rangers' first four matches will be exhibition contests, including two at Blue Mountain Christian (August 15) and Belhaven (August 20). Northwest is then scheduled to open the regular season against Mineral Area College on Saturday, Aug. 24, before hosting Tougaloo College in one final exhibition on Monday, Aug. 26.
From there, the Rangers will host Northeast (Neb.) for a Labor Day showdown, before closing out the homestand with Central Baptist College on Thursday, September 5. Four other non-conference matches dot the remainder of the schedule, including matches against National Park College on October 1 and a pair of contests against Blue Mountain Christian JV on Sept. 13 and October 18.
Conference play won't be kind to Northwest out of the gate, as three of the first four MACCC matches will take place on the road. The Rangers are slated to open at Jones College on Sept. 17, before traveling to East Central and Mississippi Gulf Coast, with a home contest against Pearl River wedged in between on Sept. 24.
Hinds and Itawamba will make visits to the Five Star City on Oct. 4 and Oct. 8, before Northwest makes a trip to Holmes on Friday, Oct. 11. The Rangers are scheduled to host East Mississippi on Oct. 15, before visiting Southwest Mississippi on Oct. 22.
Two home matches against Copiah-Lincoln (Oct. 25) and Meridian (Oct. 29) will conclude the Rangers' regular season slate.
Last season, Northwest finished 4-11 overall and 4-7 in the MACCC, keeping the Rangers in the playoff hunt until the final week of the regular season.Â
All home matches will be carried once again this season on
Ranger TV, with sports information director Brian Lentz on the call.Â
