Memphis offensive lineman to enter transfer portal

MEMPHIS - A two-year veteran on the Memphis offensive line, former Northwest alumnus Davion Carter has been chosen to Pro Football Focus' All-AAC Team.

Carter, a native of Pearl, has been regarded as one of the best offensive guards this season. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman graded out at 79.4, good for 11th nationally, and has a pass block grade of 87.2 in 522 passing snaps.

Along with Carter's help, the Memphis offensive line helped pave the way for a 9-3 regular season record and a bid to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Prior to his stint with the Tigers, Carter spent the 2020-21 seasons at Northwest, guiding the Rangers to back-to-back MACCC titles and the 2020 National Community College Football Championship. He was chosen as the Offensive Line MVP for the MACCC following his sophomore campaign and helped the Rangers to the NJCAA Division I Football Playoffs.

Carter and the Northwest offensive line helped the Rangers rank in the top 10 nationally for both rushing and passing yards during the 2021 season. During his two seasons ins Senatobia, Northwest finished with a combined 15-3 record.

Carter entered the transfer portal at the conclusion of the regular season and holds numerous Division I offers.
