SENATOBIA - A rare first half shutout didn't last long for No. 3 Northwest on Tuesday, as the Lady Rangers tacked on four goals over the final 35 minutes of a 4-0 shutout against Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Raegan Tucker got the scoring started for Northwest in the 59th minute, netting her seventh goal of the season. A few minutes later, Tucker added her name to the assist column, connecting with
Evie Crawford in the 65th minute, stretching the Lady Rangers' lead to 2-0.
In the 79th minute,
Allie Reed Greer connected on a score of her own to further widen the gap. In the 83rd minute, sophomore
Jadyn Duran put the match away for good with the Lady Rangers' fourth and final score.
With the win, Northwest improved to 11-0 on the season and 4-0 within the MACCC. Mississippi Gulf Coast dropped to 5-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.
Next up for the Lady Rangers is a road trip to Hinds, set for Friday, September 29 at 5 P.M. The Lady Eagles (1-7, 0-4 MACCC) are coming off a recent 3-0 loss to Meridian.
