SENATOBIA - For the fourth straight week, the Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team (7-0, 3-0) remain in the top spot in the most recent poll from the NJCAA.

Northwest has begun the season excelling both offensively and defensively, outscoring their opponents 53-2. Although the offensive responsibilities have been evenly spread among the Rangers, freshman Yazzlyn Alex leads the team in goals with seven, and three players (Olivia Miller, Iriko Rakotoarimanana, and Rylee Ringold) come in right behind Alex on the leaderboard with five goals each. 

The playmaking responsibilities are also spread out across the NWCC women's soccer team with three players (Melanie Holt, Maggie Pace, and Emma Demassey) tied for a team leading four assists. 

The Ranger defense has recorded five clean sheet victories in the seven games that Northwest has played, and the Northwest defense has only allowed their opponent to take 18 shots all year. 

The Rangers are one of five teams from the MACCC in the top ten of the national poll. Jones Community College (2), Holmes Community College (4), Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (6), and Pearl River Community College (10) are all ranked in the top-ten in the latest national poll. 

Northwest will be back in action at home in Senatobia at the Ranger Soccer Complex on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. when they face #2 Jones (6-0-1, 2-0) in a high stakes top-two match up.
