Northwest Men's Soccer Drops Opener to National Park College

Rangers to resume regular season on Sept. 5

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Northwest trailed by a single goal at halftime, but the Rangers were unable to even the score in the second half, falling 2-0 to National Park College in Wednesday's regular season opener.

Charles Owens put the Nighthawks on the board in the first half, while Paulo Ndenzako's unassisted goal in the second half proved to be the game-winner.

With the loss, Northwest sits at 0-1 to start the season. The Rangers will take on Belhaven JV (August 26) and Bethel JV (Aug. 31) in a pair of exhibition matches, before resuming regular season competition on Tuesday, Sept. 5 against Southern Union State.

The Rangers' match with Southern Union State will serve as the official home opener for Northwest and is slated for a 3 P.M. kickoff. The match will be carried live on Ranger TV.
