Northwest Mourns Passing of Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete Kaden Archer

BRANDON - Northwest Mississippi Community College is mourning the loss of men's soccer student-athlete Kaden Archer, who passed away at his residence on Christmas Day.

Archer joined the Rangers' program for the 2023 season, but missed the majority of the season due to injury. A native of Brandon, Archer played his prep soccer with Hartfield Academy, helping the Hawks to a pair of state championships. As a senior, he graduated with honors and was recruited by several MACCC programs.

"Kaden was a great teammate and everyone loved him," Northwest head coach Michael Sullivan said. "He always had a joke or a few words that put a smile on everyone's face."

"It is incredibly sad news to hear of the passing of Kaden," said Northwest athletic director Jake Gordon. "He was only at Northwest for a short time, but was a valued member of the soccer team and will be missed."

Off the pitch, Archer was a member of Pinelake Church and had a special place in his heart for special needs children and orphans.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 29 at 9 A.M., with a memorial service to follow at 11 A.M. Both will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
