Freshman Goalkeeper Lauded for Play in DII Women's Soccer Championship Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. - Anna Kathryn Harrell continues to add awards to the shelf following her outstanding freshman campaign.  The NJCAA announced Harrell as a member of the organization's DII Women's Soccer Championship All Tournament Team on Monday for her efforts during the Rangers' tournament run.

The keeper logged five saves in the Rangers' two matches in Arizona, corralling two in a 2-0 shutout of #11 Rock Valley (Ill.) and three more in her squad's 2-1 loss to national runner-up #7 Johnson County (Kans.).

The recognition comes on the heels of Harrell's nod as both a First Team All-MACCC and All-NJCAA Region 23 selection.  She is a six-time MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week awardee and was twice named NJCAA Goalkeeper of the week for her efforts during the 2023 season.  The keeper finished in the top five nationally in every relevant statistical category including 5th in Goals against (6), 3rd in Save percentage (.921), 2nd in Goals-against average (0.29), 2nd in Wins (18), and 1st in shutouts (13/5).

Head Coach James Beattie's squad finished the year at 21-2 and captured a co-MACCC championship, Region 23 tournament championship, and the squad's second consecutive appearance in the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship tournament.
