JACKSON - Northwest forward Gabriel Burton has been selected for Honorable Mention All-MACCC recognition, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Burton, a native of Pensacola, Fla., was the only Northwest men's player chosen for postseason conference awards. The Pensacola Christian College transfer totaled one goal and five assists, finishing as the Rangers' assists leader.

Burton's lone goal of the season came in the Rangers' 3-2 early-season conference victory at Meridian. Northwest trailed 2-0 in the match, before rallying back for the win.

Northwest missed out on the postseason, but remained in the hunt for a playoff slot entering the regular season finale at Pearl River. The Rangers also doubled its win total from the previous year, while posting a 4-7 mark in conference play.
