DECATUR - A career performance by East Central's Evan Reape plagued Northwest in Tuesday's 4-0 conference loss.
Reape provided all four goals for the Warriors, including three in the first half for a quick hat trick. Northwest dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the MACCC, while East Central jumped to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
East Central scored just over a minute into the match, as Karim Swedi found the waiting foot of Reape. Five minutes later, Reape added another to put Northwest in a 2-0 deficit.
Northwest was able to limit the shots on-goal for the Warriors over the next 20 minutes, but East Central scored another one in the 28th minute to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime. The final dagger from ECCC came in the 52nd minute of the match, when Jashil Vithal found Reape for his fourth goal.
Northwest was held to just eight shots all night, with four coming on-goal. East Central fired off 23 shots, with 12 coming on target.
Connor Young posted eight saves in a full 90 minutes of action, while East Central collected four saves on the night. The Warriors also took eight corner shots, with the Rangers being held to just one.
Northwest left the evening with 13 fouls called, including a slew of yellow cards. A total of six were handed to the Rangers, while East Central only picked up five fouls and one caution in the 38th minute.
Northwest will host Pearl River on Friday, September 23 at 3 P.M.
