JACKSON - After his record-breaking performance in a 1-1 draw at East Central last Monday, there was little doubt that Northwest freshman
Blaine Galbraith would earn MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week accolades and the conference made the announcement official on Tuesday afternoon.
Galbraith, a freshman midfielder from Olive Branch, stepped into the starting role in place of the injured
Dustin Brown and stopped 23 shots on-goal from East Central, breaking the previous single-match record of 19 saves, set by
Carson Tackett in 2018.
With the exception of a brief 44-second stretch in double overtime, Galbraith played the entire 110 minutes for the Rangers. He has played in all four matches this season, including three stints as goalkeeper, where he logged seven saves in 46 minutes at Copiah-Lincoln on April 2 and no saves in the final five minutes of a loss against Meridian on April 8.
Northwest (0-3-1, 0-0-1 division) will resume action this evening at Hinds for a 7 P.M. kickoff. Live stats will be available on nwccrangers.com.
