JACKSON - Northwest sophomore forward
Ally Bailey has been selected as the women's soccer Player of the Week, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Bailey's three-goal hat trick helped lift Northwest to a 5-2 victory against Meridian last Thursday. The Olive Branch native and Lewisburg High School alumnus also posted two assists in the victory, as well as a third assist in the Lady Rangers' 3-1 loss at Southwest Mississippi earlier in the week. Nine of Bailey's 12 total shots came on goal.
Through the first four matches, Bailey leads the team with four goals and four assists. Her freshman season resulted in a team-high six goals and three assists, pushing her to a tie for eighth all-time in career assists.
Prior to Northwest, Bailey helped Lewisburg to a 15-3-1 overall record as a senior and scored 10 goals with four assists. Her senior campaign also resulted in a Region 1-5A title for the Lady Patriots.
Northwest (2-2, 0-1 MACCC) will resume action on Tuesday, April 20 at Hinds.
