SENATOBIA - Northwest sophomore forward
Tori Dronet will continue her academic and athletic career at the four-year level, as the D'Iberville native signed with Wayland Baptist University earlier this week.
Dronet is the second member of the 2021 Northwest women's soccer program to sign to a four-year program, joining defender
Molly Rose (Georgia State).
In her lone season with the Lady Rangers, Dronet played a valuable role as a key reserve during the program's historic 15-win season. Dronet played in all but one match for Northwest, scoring her lone goal in the August 24 season-opener against Blue Mountain. Overall, she took seven shots during the season, including four on-goal.
Prior to Northwest, Dronet played nearly every match in two seasons at Southwest Mississippi, where she also earned numerous NJCAA and MACCC Academic accolades.
Based in Plainview, Texas, Wayland Baptist competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Similar to the Lady Rangers, the Pioneers are also coming off a historic season, which included an 11-5-1 overall record and an appearance in the conference semifinals.
