SENATOBIA - One of the all-time leading scorers in Northwest women's soccer history will have a new home beginning next fall.
Northwest forward
Ally Bailey signed with Christian Brothers University on Monday afternoon, becoming the third Lady Ranger off the historic 2021 squad to officially join a four-year program.
Bailey was one of several Northwest student-athletes to earn a third year of eligibility due to COVID-19 and the Olive Branch native made the most of it. Starring for the Lady Rangers from 2019-21, Bailey capped off her career with 73 points, 27 goals, 0.59 goals per game and 1.58 points per game, all good for fourth in Northwest career records.
Bailey also totaled 19 career assists, finishing tied for second in that category and just one behind all-time program leader and teammate
Jennifer Enriquez. The former Lewisburg High School product's 2021 season was her best from a statistical standpoint, doubling her season goals from seven in 2020 to 14 this year. Her 14 goals now rank eighth in a single-season, while her nine assists are tied for fourth with teammateÂ
Molly Rose. Her 1.95 points per game in 2021 also rank fourth in the single-season record books, while her 0.74 goals per game are good for sixth in a single-season.
For her efforts in 2021, Bailey was selected to represent Northwest in the annual MACCC All-Star Game and also earned conference Player of the Week accolades on October 19, following a week of four goals and two assists in a narrow loss to East Central and an 8-1 rout of Dyersburg State. She also earned POTW honors in the spring 2021 season and received multiple academic accolades during her Northwest career.
Prior to Northwest, Bailey played for coach Scotti Miles at Lewisburg, where she guided the Lady Patriots to a 15-3-1 overall record, a Region 1-5A title and an appearance in the Class 5A North Half match as a senior.
Bailey joins teammates Rose (Georgia State) and
Tori Dronet (Wayland Baptist University) in continuing their academic and athletic careers at the four-year level.
A member of the Gulf South Conference, Christian Brothers competes at the Division II level of the NCAA and sported an 8-8-2 overall record this past season.Â
