Ally Bailey Awarded MACCC Player of the Week

Sophomore Closing in on Career Assists Record

JACKSON - After a strong performance during a split week for No. 13 Northwest, sophomore forward Ally Bailey was voted as Offensive Player of the Week by the MACCC, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.

In two contests last week, Bailey scored the Lady Rangers' only goal in a narrow 2-1 loss against nationally-ranked East Central, before adding three goals and two assists in an 8-1 rout of Dyersburg State last Friday. This is her first POTW award since April 13 and the Lady Rangers' sixth POTW honor this season.

As a third-year sophomore, Bailey has been an offensive force for the Lady Rangers since her debut season in 2019. The Olive Branch native has compiled 12 goals and eight assists this season, ranking second in scoring behind MJ Loeffel's 16 goals.

For her career, Bailey ranks fourth all-time in scoring with 25 goals, while also owning 18 career assists, good for second most in program history. She needs two more assists to break the all-time career assists record held by Gena Gutierrez (2004-05), while remaining one ahead of freshman sensation Jennifer Enriquez, who has already moved to third all-time in her debut season.

Northwest (12-2, 3-2 North Division) will aim to officially clinch a playoff spot this week, beginning with today's 1 P.M. home match against Hinds. The Lady Rangers will then travel to Itawamba on Friday, before closing out the regular season at home against No. 4 Holmes on Tuesday, October 26.
