MEMPHIS – Former Northwest forward
Cheyenne Smith will continue her collegiate career at the four-year level after joining Christian Brothers University over the summer.
A Bluff City native, Smith spent two seasons with Northwest and finished ninth in program history with 13 career goals. The Memphis Catholic School alumnus scored all but one of her career goals during a stellar freshman season, which included a career-best four goals in a 4-2 win against East Central on September 5, 2018.
Smith was hampered by injuries as a sophomore but still played in eight contests, earning six starts and later receiving a bid to participate in the MACJC All-Star Game. Her only goal of the season came in a 2-1 loss against Itawamba on September 10, 2019.
Off the field, Smith was a mainstay on the school's President's/Vice President's lists while also receiving Academic All-MACJC recognition as a freshman and sophomore.
Smith joins
Shelbi Box (MUW) as the only two players from last year's Lady Rangers club to move on to the four-year level. Her freshman teammate,
Angel Hailey, now plays for Montevallo after spending the 2019 season at ULM.
A member of NCAA Division II, Christian Brothers competes in the Gulf South Conference. The Lady Bucs finished 10-8-1 last season and fell in the first round of the GSC Women's Soccer Championship.
