Terri Jo Banks Appointed as Athletic Academic Advisor

SENATOBIA – Northwest Mississippi Community College has appointed Terri Jo Banks to the role of athletic academic advisor, the institution announced this week.

Banks arrives at Northwest following her most recent stint as an academic counselor at Holmes Community College, a role she held from 2018 to this spring.

"I am excited to be a part of the Northwest team," Banks said. "I have had the opportunity to meet with our coaches and staff and I am looking forward to working with each of them. I am also eager to meet our student-athletes and to have them back on campus. Everyone has been helpful so far and I am excited to be a part of our great athletic department."

In her role as an academic counselor, Banks assisted the Holmes football program with scheduling and financial aid while also counseling students on changes to majors and holding workshops on degree evaluations and academic planning. She also reviewed graduation applications and provided assistance for students on planning schedules and course recommendations.

Banks also held other previous positions at Holmes as a student loan and financial aid counselor from 2016-18, admissions and online proctor from 2010-13 and financial aid advisor from 2006-08.

Banks replaces Jake Long, who accepted a similar position at Mississippi State University in February.
