MACJC Football Schedule Revised

JACKSON – Northwest fans will have to wait just a little longer before watching the Rangers kick off at Bobby Franklin Field this fall.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Presidents of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges approved two proposals in regards to the 2020 football season.

Instead of an August 27 kickoff date, the regular season will now begin on September 10 and will consist of eight regular season games, with the usual four-team playoff format running from November 7-14.

Northwest will now tentatively travel to Copiah-Lincoln on Thursday, Sept. 10, before hosting Holmes for its home opener on Thursday, Sept. 17 in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Bobby Franklin Field. The Rangers will then travel to Northeast and East Mississippi on Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, before returning home to face Coahoma and Mississippi Gulf Coast on Oct. 8 and Oct. 15.

Northwest will then conclude the regular season at Itawamba on Oct. 22 and at home against Mississippi Delta on Oct. 29, a game that is tentatively scheduled to serve as the Rangers' homecoming.

Additionally, a virtual football Media Day is slated to take place on August 14.

All games are subject to change and additional details or changes to this year's schedules will be posted at nwccrangers.com and on Twitter (@NWCC_Rangers).
