HILLSBORO, Ore. - Fresh off the heels of claiming MACCC and national titles over the weekend and just days after six of his Northwest teammates earned Fall All-America Third Team honors, sophomore offensive lineman
Vance Van Every has been selected to JCGridiron.com's Fall All-America Second Team.
Throughout his two seasons in Senatobia, Van Every has played in 16 contests as part of a stout offensive front for the Rangers and offensive line coach
Jim Jones. The Magnolia Heights product played in all but one game during his 2019 freshman campaign and started in all six games this season.
"He's just a joy to coach," Jones said. "The thing that jumps out to me the most is his positive attitude and the hard work he brings every day. He's a great model for any freshman to look up to on how to approach practice, meetings or walkthroughs. Vance is a smart football player and he rarely ever makes a mental mistake. That is a direct reflection of his approach to practice and meetings."
Van Every helped guide a freshman-heavy offensive line this season, as the unit paved the way for over 2,300 yards of total offense in six games. The Rangers' offensive line also helped quarterback
Michael Hiers to a pair of 300-yard passing efforts and three games with 150 or more rushing yards.
"He worked really hard during the offseason," Jones continued. "The improvement from his freshman to sophomore seasons has been remarkable. We have had a lot of great offensive linemen come through during the past few seasons and Vance is right up there with them. He's a great person, great athlete and he's going to do great things in the future."
This is the second postseason honor for Van Every after he was named First Team All-MACCC last Friday. Van Every also joins six other Northwest teammates who made JCGridiron.com's list of Fall All-America Third Team selections - running backÂ
Jaquerrious Williams, receiverÂ

Tyson Keys, linebackersÂ
