Northwest Moves to No. 7 in "Dirty 30" Rankings

HILLSBORO, Ore. – After fielding its best performance of the season in last week's 41-13 victory at Holmes, Northwest has jumped up yet another spot to No. 7 in the latest "Dirty 30" rankings from JCGridiron.com, the JUCO recruiting site announced Tuesday morning.

Northwest has slowly risen in the national rankings all season, even in weeks without games played. The Rangers (4-0) are one of five MACCC programs ranked, behind No. 2 Mississippi Gulf Coast and ahead of Hinds, Jones and Northeast, who check in at Nos. 10, 12 and 21, respectively.

East Central and Copiah-Lincoln are also listed as bubble teams, despite both programs canceling the remainder of their seasons. Pearl River and Coahoma are also additional bubble teams from the MACCC.

Garden City (Kan.) continues to top the national rankings at No. 1 overall, followed by MGCCC, Riverside City (Calif.), Lackawanna (Pa.) and Iowa Central in the top five. All of those programs, aside from the second-ranked Bulldogs, will tentatively participate in spring seasons in their respective conferences.

Northwest will likely close out its regular season on Thursday, Nov. 19 against Mississippi Delta, in what will be just the second and final home contest for the Rangers. Tickets will be distributed beginning today on a first-come, first-served basis for students and tomorrow for faculty and staf. (More details on that process can be found here.)

Northwest upended Mississippi Delta two weeks ago in Moorhead with a 26-9 victory, improving to 45-23-2 all-time against the Trojans. The last time the two teams met twice in the same season was 1991, when the Rangers earned a 55-14 homecoming win and later defeated MDCC in the MACJC Championship, 20-17, en route to an 11-1-1 record and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA National Championship.

Kickoff between the Rangers and Trojans will be at 7 p.m. from Ranger Stadium at Bobby Franklin Field. Live coverage of the game can be found on nwccrangers.com/watch.
