Rangers Up Two Spots in Latest Dirty 30 Rankings

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Following a season-opening 16-14 win against Itawamba last Thursday, Northwest has risen two spots in the most recent "Dirty 30" rankings from JCGridiron.com, the national recruiting site announced Tuesday morning.

Northwest checks in at No. 11 this week ahead of the Rangers' first road contest at 28th-ranked Northeast, a game set for Thursday, Oct. 22 in Booneville.

Defending MACCC and NJCAA champions Mississippi Gulf Coast lead the Magnolia State's representation with a No. 2 national ranking. The Bulldogs sit just behind top-ranked Garden City (Kan.), which is slated to play in the spring with the rest of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

At No. 11, Northwest is the second highest MACCC program ranked, followed by No. 13 Hinds, No. 14 Jones College and No. 25 Copiah-Lincoln. Additionally, Pearl River and Coahoma remain on the bubble, just outside of the top 30.

East Mississippi is also ranked at No. 22 nationally, despite opting out of the 2020 season.

Riverside City (Calif.), Lackawanna (Pa.) and Iowa Central populate the remaining top five slots.

Kickoff for Northwest and Northeast is set for 6:30 p.m. The game will have both live stats and broadcasts available at nwccrangers.com/watch.
