Meet the Rangers Set for August 20

SENATOBIA – Northwest Mississippi Community College will celebrate the start of the 2019 fall sports season with its annual "Meet the Rangers" night on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

Admission is free for the event, which will take place at Howard Coliseum on the Senatobia campus. The event was moved from its traditional site of Bobby Franklin Field due to ongoing turf construction.

Athletes from the rodeo, football and men's and women's soccer teams, cheerleaders, Ranger Marching Band and Rangerettes will be on hand for the evening's festivities.

This year, the Ranger band's halftime show is titled "Party Rock" featuring songs from LMFAO, Pink, Fall Out Boy and Katy Perry. Tracks include "Party Rock Anthem", "Get This Party Started", " Light Em Up", and "Firework".

Both Northwest soccer teams will host Freed-Hardeman in a pair of exhibition matches in Senatobia at 1/3 p.m. on Aug. 15, before the Lady Rangers travel to Dyersburg State on the 22nd and the men travel to St. Charles (Mo.) on the 24th to open the regular season.

On the gridiron, the nationally-ranked Rangers travel to East Central on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 to kickoff the 2019 football season. The Rangers are ranked seventh, eighth and 12th nationally in three different preseason polls.

Northwest will begin the fall portion of its 2019-20 rodeo season at Missouri Valley College from Sept. 19-21.
