2018 Football Media Guide Earns Best in the Nation

ORLANDO, Fla. – Northwest's 2018 Football Media Guide has been named Best in the Nation in the 2018-19 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) annual Publications and Digital Designs Contest, the organization announced at its annual convention last week.

The 174-page publication (click here to view) was written and edited by Kevin Maloney and Brian Lentz, with contributions by Northwest graphic designer Jennifer Corbin. Cover design and printing was provided by Service Printers, Inc.

There are over 50 categories across the board in the annual CoSIDA Publications Contest, with every program at every level having the opportunity to receive recognition for their work.

"After finishing second and third so many times over the last decade in the football category, I can't explain how exciting it is to finally break through and win," Maloney said. "It's a testament to how hard Brian and I have worked on this publication and I hope coaches, recruiters, student-athletes and fans have enjoyed the content."

The publication placed first in the contest's Football Media Guides college division, which consists of entries from NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA and other NJCAA institutions. Washburn University and Tarleton State University took home second and third place, respectively, while Lawrence Technological University took home Best Cover honors.

In addition, Northwest's recently redesigned athletic website placed third at the annual College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) conference in Ridgeland.

Maloney has now received 13 national awards by CoSIDA and 17 from CPRAM for his work with publications, social media and print media over the last decade. Sixteen of those have earned first place recognition.
