SENATOBIA – Northwest freshman forward Cheyenne Smith has been selected as the MACJC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.

A native of Cordova, Tenn., Smith had an impressive stretch for the Lady Rangers last week to open division play.

In a 4-2 victory against East Central on Sept. 5, she tallied her first career hat-trick (three goals) in the first half before adding an additional goal in the early stages of the second half. She followed up with one more goal in Northwest's 3-2 overtime loss at Itawamba last Friday.

Through seven matches, Smith leads the team with nine goals, five coming against north division opponents.

Northwest (3-4, 1-2 north division) will host No. 13 Holmes on Friday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m.
