Northwest Football Broadcasts to Be Carried Exclusively Online

SENATOBIA – For the first time in the program's history, all Northwest football broadcasts will be carried online only for the 2018 season, the sports information department formally announced on Thursday.

Ranger fans won't have to look far to catch all the action, however, as all games will be carried live and archived through nwccrangers.com/watch. The only difference is that no games will be carried through terrestrial radio, ending a three-year relationship with Batesville Broadcasting's "Country Legends 106.9", WHKL-FM.

"Looking at the analytics of our broadcasts over the years, over 90 percent of our following is online," sports information director Kevin Maloney said. "More than ever, people are used to streaming shows and movies online and getting their content anywhere in the world. It made the most sense to give our fans what they wanted and make the transition away from radio broadcasts."

Jeremy Kennedy and John Luke McCord will return to the booth for their second season as the collective "Voice of the Rangers". Kennedy calls football, basketball and softball games for MaxxSouth Sports, a cable network based in northeast Mississippi. McCord is a co-host on "Mississippi Sports Today" that airs weekday mornings on SuperTalk Tupelo 95.9, WCNA-FM, and is also a regular contributor to Southern Elite Sports and its collegiate-themed spinoff, SES University.

Prior to all nine regular season games and any playoff contests, the broadcasts will be preceded by a pregame show that will begin 30 minutes prior to kickoff and followed by a postgame wrap-up immediately following each contest. All games will also be streamed in high definition.

Northwest will kickoff the 2018 season by hosting East Central on Thursday, August 30 at Bobby Franklin Field.
