Trawick's Hat-Trick Not Enough in 5-3 Loss to Hinds

SENATOBIA – Parker Trawick's first career hat-trick wasn't enough Friday afternoon in the Rangers' 5-3 loss to Hinds.

Northwest dropped to 1-4-1 overall and remained winless in division play at 0-3, while Hinds improved to 4-3 and 3-1.

Trailing 2-0 late in the first half after a pair of goals from Mohammed Ibrahim, Trawick netted his first colleigate goal in the 32nd minute off a penalty kick to cut the deficit in half.

But Hinds immediately responded 1:45 later to retake control of the game 3-1 at intermission.

Northwest was held to just three shots the opening 45 minutes against 14 shots for Hinds.

The Eagles continued to pour it on, adding goals by Ian Clendenin and Caleb Pace in the 54th and 80th minutes, to extend the lead to 5-1 late in the match.

Trawick completed his hat-trick in the game's final minutes, scoring his second in the 82nd minute and third in the 84th off an assist from Quaid Phillips.

The final shot tally was 28-9 in favor of the visitors and Hinds also had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.

Carson Tackett, one of the nation's top saves leaders, finished with eight saves but allowed all five goals.

Northwest will try and snap a five-match winless streak next Friday, Sept. 22 at Gulf Coast.
