SENATOBIA – For a second straight December, Northwest Mississippi had 19 players sign to continue their football careers at four-year schools during the mid-year junior college early signing period.
The mid-year JC transfer early period runs from Wednesday, Dec. 20 through Monday, Jan. 15.
Thirteen of the Rangers' 19 signees are headed to Division I programs in addition to six to Division II programs. The 19 signees ties a program-record of mid-year signees set last year and is one of the tops in the MACJC.
Cornerback
Marlon Character Jr. will sign with either West Virginia or Louisville in February to bring the total to 20 signees on a freshman-heavy 2017 squad.
All told, Northwest had a state-best 29 players sign in 2016 to continue their careers at the four-year level.
