BOONEVILLE – After throwing for 314 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns in a 61-38 win over No. 1 East Mississippi, Northwest's
Jack Abraham has been named the MACJC Offensive Player of the Week for a second time this season.
Abraham completed 22 of 33 passes for two touchdowns, both to
JaVonta Payton, and added a 10-yard rushing score as the Rangers handed the Lions their worst loss in seven years.
Since a 27-24 setback at Itawamba in Week 3 in which he threw three interceptions, Abraham has been superb, completing over 71 percent of his passes for 1,080 yards, 10 touchdowns and just one interception.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound redshirt-freshman quarterback from Oxford ranks second in the country in pass efficiency (166.0), fifth in passing yards per game (273.7) and sixth in completion percentage (66.1).
Abraham and the Rangers travel to East Central Thursday night for a 6:30 kick in Decatur.
